DAM Group througout DACTEM company has undertaken to study a new generation of DORIS RF beacons simulator.
It is based on a Software Defined Radio (SDR) system.
The NI USRP SDR system coupled with Labview FPGA programming was selected to simulate the RF signals of DORIS beacons.
Due to the challenging very narrow bandwidth permissible at multiple frequencies, DACTEM and its partner, NI, are currently carrying out a Proof Of Concept (POC) in order to demonstrate feasibility.
The POC will be followed, by the testing of the newly developed simulator in the CNES DORIS laboratory.
Through this project and leveraging on its well-established software development capabilities, DAM Group has initiated a new activity in the very specialised radiofrequency sector.
